Attention MTT Coalition Members:

It is time to start recruiting your members to attend the November 30th Transportation Lobby Day.   As we are all aware, the success of this Lobby Day will be determined by the number of members each of us can assemble in Lansing on this day to meet with their Senator and Representative.

Over the last six years, each of us has expended a substantial amount of time and energy in the effort to educate and persuade our elected officials to act on legislation that will provide the necessary transportation and infrastructure investment.  It has been a selfless, daunting, and unrewarding six years, but we cannot stop fighting now! We are so close to the finish line, so if we give up we’ll hang our heads with regret over what we should have done.

The Time is Now! Time for us to recruit our members, to grit our teeth and to push forward until the Legislature passes the necessary legislation to propel Michigan’s transportation and infrastructure in a positive direction of growth and investment.

Please click on the attachment on the top of this bulletin for  an announcement about the November 30th Lobby Day that each of you can use to distribute to your members.

Nicole Cook, outreach coordinator at MITA , will schedule all legislative meetings on behalf of the entire group and will communicate those meeting times to everyone in advance of the Lobby Day.  The last day to get your completed registration list to Nicole is November 12.

If you have any questions or concerns about any of this information, please feel free to contact Nicole Cook at (517) 347-8336 or via email at nicolecook@mi-ita.com.  Thank you!

Sign the Petition

The Michigan Transportation Team (MTT) recently announced an online petition drive for citizens who are tired of driving on pothole-riddled streets. Although the petition is non-binding and will not change the law, the names of petition signers will be presented to state policymakers to demonstrate the level of support in Michigan for investing in our state’s infrastructure.
